Rarely has an Australian band received as much consistent and widespread acclaim from critics and music fans alike as the Bondi Cigars.
When the band was first gigging around Sydney, late 1989, the Cigars moved in a blues/R&B circuit which, while robust enough since the 60s, had then been sparked into new life by the ‘blues revival’ of the mid-80’s, spearheaded by Robert Cray, Joe Louis Walker, Stevie Ray Vaughan and similar crusaders. And while many of the Sydney bands from that era have vanished, become historical footnotes or undergone major changes, the Cigars – true survivors – have battled on, without ever compromising their distinctive no nonsense style, to become a leading force in Australian R&B.
That original Cigars line-up brought together four like-minded experienced players, all veterans of Sydney inner-west blues venues, and from the word go, as the 1990 tracks demonstrate, the Cigars have been the very model of the ‘no passengers’ band, a well-oiled machine plus soul: no room for slackers here. Always one of the country’s hardest working outfits (on the road more than off), the Cigars have kept their music tight, hard-driving and down – to – earth: the Australian bar band par excellence.

A lot has happened since The Wolfe Brothers burst into millions of lounge rooms around the nation in mid 2012 when they were voted into second place in the final of the prime time television show Australia’s Got Talent.
Since those weekly TV performances in 2012 they have toured the USA, written and recorded in Nashville, for the last 6 years have toured all over Australia with Lee Kernaghan and have become one of the hottest live acts in country music. Their newest album release, Country Heart, is their 4th studio album and was recorded in Sydney with Aussie producer Matt Fell. All 4 Wolfe Brothers albums have debuted at #2 on the ARIA Country chart. Their last 12 singles have hit #1 on the country charts in Australia.
2018 was a huge year for the band culminating with their Country Heart album being nominated for Best Country Album at the 2018 ARIA Awards.
2019 kicked off with a bang when the band dominated at the Australian Country Music Awards where they were nominated for 5 Awards and took home 4 Golden Guitars. They won the coveted Album Of The Year for ‘Country Heart’, Contemporary Album Of The Year for ‘Country Heart’, Song Of The Year for ‘Ain’t Seen It Yet’ and they capped off an amazing night taking out Group Of The Year.
The first half of 2019 will see the band headlining their own shows around Australia and also performing at a number of festivals. Mid year the Wolfies hook up with their mate Lee Kernaghan and will again be touring with LK on his massive 50 date Australian Tour. Somewhere in the middle of all this touring the band will head to Nashville and Canada to write their next album.
The Wolfe Brothers continue to strive to deliver the best shows and albums they can to their fans. They are most comfortable performing live and anyone who has seen them will confirm that this is a band that puts 110% into every show they do.
Don’t miss The Wolfe Brothers Live on their No Sad Song Tour Australian Tour with special guest artists.

In 1985, Iron Maiden brought the most successful tour they would ever undertake to Australia. Dubbed the World Slavery tour, this legendary band were on the road for 13 consecutive months, performing over 300 shows in no less than 28 different countries.
