Since 1961, the Harmonie German Club has had a rich history in the performing arts, hosting some of the most talented and successful artists of our time — from AC/DC to The Angels, Little River Band, INXS, Cold Chisel, Air Supply, Mental As Anything, ICEHOUSE, Del Shannon and John Farnham.
Today, home to the Canberra Blues Society and supported by Elite Event Technology, our venue provides a strong platform for local, interstate and international bands, original artists and a wide range of variety shows made accessible to all our patrons.

WHAT IS BUHURT?
From the French word “Behourd” The term evolved from an old French word meaning “to wallop” or “batter”.

Buhurt developed in the 13th century as a way for knights in feudal Europe to hone their combat skills while putting on a public spectacle.
To Win
Knock the opposing fighters down! Make them Surrender!! Team with the last Knight standing wins!!! Buhurt was used as a means to train fighters and display prowess without accidentally killing nobles or competitors.
Sources from history show the use of blunt weapons, and rules similar to the modern sport. Melees can range from bouts of two versus two up to 150 versus 150.
Buhurt is a test of teamwork, strength, resilience and desire for violence.

From the brooding swagger of John Barry’s classic scores to the high-octane energy of David Arnold’s modern Bond era, this concert celebrates over six decades of 007 through lush orchestration, bold brass, sweeping melodies to driving rhythms and intimate moments. The Bond sound is perfectly suited to the power and colour of a big band — all delivered by The Canberra Jazz Orchestra.

Dress sharp if you like — Bond style encouraged, martinis optional
Arrival. Doors to The Zeppelin Room will open 7.15pm for general admission. Dinner and show admission from 6.30pm Show starts 8pm
Seating. Dinner/Show tickets will have their tables reserved at the front of the room in the name of the ticket holder. There will be unreserved seating at tables for all other guests. Those wishing to sit as a group are encouraged to arrive early to avoid disappointment
Accessibility. The Zeppelin Room and toilets (outside the auditorium) have wheelchair access.
Parking. There is an ample number of parking spaces on our grounds, on the street outside and the grass area right next to the club.

Entree: Soft salted pretzels with butter
Main course: 50/50 alternate serve – Chicken schnitzel with chips and salad/German Sausage plate with red sauerkraut and potato mash.

Come one, come all to the Harmonie German Club for a unique event, presented by ConneXion Big Band and featuring the music of blind singers Stevie Wonder, Diane Schuur and Ray Charles. Relive the careers of these three prominent singers that graced the airwaves and the stage with their hits from the mid 1900’s onward.
The concert in the Zeppelin Room runs from 4:00-6:00 pm, so as it winds up consider staying for dinner. Doors open at 3:30.
ConneXion Big Band is directed by Greg Stott and is fronted by well-known local singer Annaliesa Rose.

Long time stalwarts of Aussie Blues-rock shred, Chase The Sun have roots planted in the blues scene but have been letting their love of rock and roll fully hang out since forming in 2007. Crowd favourites at festivals all over the country, Chase The Sun infuse their take on the blues with loud guitar, blazing hard funk and a cranking 70’s southern rock feel.
Chase The Sun features the powerhouse delivery and soul-tinged song writing of guitarist Jan Rynsaardt combined with elements of acoustic blues, stoner rock Psychedelia and Stevie Ray Vaughn boogie – this three-piece crank out their own take on a classic sound.
