It’s on again.  Our Fab Five blues piano players giving you a smorgasbord of blues piano genres in just one show. The Fab Five play solo and together in what has become one of Canberra’s annual blues highlights. Get in early for what is always a big night.

Featuring well-known local maestro Wayne Kelly as well as Carolyn Packer from the Central Coast, Ali Penney, John Black and Leo Joseph.

Styles range from Jelly Roll Morton’s Cuban influences from the early 20th Century through to stride piano, the melodic styles of New Orleans piano, and the great crowd favourite, the 10 handed boogie woogie.

Wayne Kelly always shows how jazz and blues are so intimately related to each other.

Carolyn Packer’s honky-tonk and boogie-woogie style will have you stompin’ your feet. Her robust piano playing and vibrant vocals will get you bouncin’ along.

John Black’s prowess on the keys and superb mastery of stride is infamous.

Ali Penney and Leo Joseph, both well-known local blues piano players round out the bill.
