together with Interstate Judges. A 4-ring show with new breeds
and cuddly companions. Stalls with cat toys and snuggly beds.
Judging commences 9:00am and public are welcome from 9:30am.
Entry is $2 Adult and $5 Family.

Canberra Blues Society Annual Youth in Blues Jam will be hosted by Bundah Blues Band & Small Town Afro. Bundah Blues Band is comprised of music students from Narrabundah College.
Canberra Blues Society Annual Youth in Blues Jam will be hosted by Bundah Blues Band & Small Town Afro. Bundah Blues Band is comprised of music students from Narrabundah College. They will perform the opening set at 1pm. The band will be followed by some amazing musicians in the region jamming together. With Small Town Afro from Mulwaree High, Goulburn finishing off the day with a half hour set.
BUNDAH BLUES BAND –
David has been playing piano since he was six and was inspired to extend his abilities to blues and jazz two years ago. He has loved them ever since.
Caspian has been playing bass for over 4 years. He is self taught with some classical guitar lessons on the side. He is a former member of the heavy metal band Dark Silence and has released several solo albums on Youtube. He says that the blues will always be the root of his love for contemporary rock and jazz.
Ben has been playing tenor sax for six years in school and community blues and jazz bands. In his spare time he likes to write and arrange music for different ensembles.
Lucy has been playing alto sax for over 6 years and tenor for over 4. She was introduced to the blues through school and community ensembles. She performed recently at the Merimbula Jazz Festival and found it a very inspiring experience.
Jessica has been playing trumpet for over 6 years and also enjoys singing. She has played in various school bands as well as the ACT Senior Concert Band. Being in the Bundah Blues Band has been an enjoyable experience and has helped her broaden her musical horizons.
Mike has been singing for 5 years. He has only started studying blues music this year and really likes the casual and free feeling it gives him. He also likes singing pop and classical music.
Amy started her music on piano but switched to alto sax while still in primary school. She has played in a wide range of ensembles and loves live performances.
Tahli has been playing drums for 4 years and has been part of several ensembles including “The T-Shirt Appreciation Society” and “Sauerkraut Blues”. She has played at the Merimbula Jazz Festival for the last 3 years and thinks that blues is the most underrated genre of music.
Taylor has been singing for about five years. She started by singing pop. She got into blues and jazz at age 14 and the love for all things similar arose from there. She really enjoyed her performance last year at the Blues Jam.
Declan has been playing trombone for eight years. He started improvising three years ago and hasn’t stopped since. In the last couple of years he has been developing his vocal talents and at the Blues Jam will be singing as well as playing trombone.
Dimitri has been playing guitar for four years. He enjoys all sorts of music, loving the sounds of blues and jazz. Playing music is his passion.
SMALL TOWN AFRO –
Small town Afro are a group of young musicians originating from Mulwaree High School in Goulburn. They draw influences across many styles, and have performed as an ensemble at the Australian blues festival held in Goulburn in 2019 and “Specfest” at the school spectacular in Sydney in 2018.
The group has a number of young performers, with the bass player, drummer and vocalist being 14, 15 and 15 years of age respectively.
They are currently looking to expand their repertoire to enable them to perform more gigs in 2019. Small Town Afro would like to thank the Canberra blues society for the opportunity to perform today.
