Canberra Blues Society February Blues Jam hosted by Big Gumbo. New Orleans blues and grooves served with spicy sides.
Take four seasoned musicians, add a selection of tunes from New Orleans’ finest artists (Dr John, The Neville Brothers, Jon Cleary, The Meters) sprinkle with some second line beats and serve with a side of Texas greats (Delbert, Albert, ZZ Top). Based in and around Canberra these boys aim to bring you that unique blues feel, made of ingredients from Africa, France and Spain, mixed and baked in the hot Louisiana sun and served in big helpings when the lights go down and the animal spirits come off the leash. Bring your dancing shoes cos that’s the point.

TICKETED SHOW: CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS The Wolfe Brothers, one of the most exciting country rock bands to emerge out of Australia, impact the ARIA and iTunes charts
The Wolfe Brothers, one of the most exciting country rock bands to emerge out of Australia, impact the ARIA and iTunes charts with their new album, Country Heart. Upon release, the highly-anticipated album shot the band straight to the top of the iTunes country chart (#1) and #4 on the iTunes main (all genre) chart. With the release of ARIA charts over the weekend, Country Heart landed at #9 on the ARIA Main Album chart, sitting behind recent stadium touring artists Ed Sheeran (3x albums) and Bruno Mars.
The album also secured high chart placings with a #1 on the ARIA Australian Country Album chart; #2 on the Australian Artists Album (all genre) charts (#1 Dami Im); #2 on ARIA Country Album chart (#1 So Country compilation); and a #6 on ARIA Digital Album (all genre) chart.
After the success of their previous albums – It’s On, Nothing But Trouble and This Crazy Life – Country Heart is The Wolfe Brothers’ fourth studio album and their highest ARIA main chart debut to date.
As Tom Wolfe enthuses, “We are so proud to see Country Heart hitting Top Ten on the mainstream charts. It’s a record which we have put our heart and soul into and it’s great to see that it is connecting on a larger scale. It’s just more proof country music is something Australians want to hear more of and see on bigger platforms”
Natalie Waller (Head of ABC Music) reiterates, “It’s great to see contemporary country music working its way to a more mainstream audience; impacting commercial airplay and mainstream charts. The Wolfe Brothers leading the charge in this market is a credit to their hard work and their broad appeal.”
Pioneers of Australian contemporary country music, The Wolfe Brothers (Tom Wolfe, Nick Wolfe, Brodie Rainbird) completed the album in Sydney with their new producer, the multi-award winning Matt Fell and was mastered by renowned engineer, William Bowden (Goyte). All of this has led to a fresh and more developed sound with Country Heart.
