If you would like to learn a bit about Austria’s musical culture, the Austrian Choir Canberra is presenting a Heimat Tag Konzert on Sunday October 22 at 2pm at the Harmonie German Club. The event celebrates Austria’s National Day and in keeping with the cultural tradition the Choir is preparing an afternoon of beautiful Austrian songs. From a Jodler to traditional Folk songs, you will think that you have been transported back to Austria. The Young Austrian Kinderchor will also feature and back by popular demand are the Austrian Choir Musicians who will present a trio of Austrian music. Admission is $15 and children U18 free. At interval Kaffee und Kuchen – Coffee and Cake – will be available. Come dressed in your Trachten (traditional Austrian wear) for this special Austrian event.
