The consummate performer, Continental Robert Susz first came into prominence as the lead singer, harmonica player and chief songwriter of the 80s soul band the Dynamic Hepnotics.

After building a big following around Australia with their wild live show, they raced to the top of the charts with the Susz penned composition, ‘Soul Kind of Feeling’ in 1984. The record became the biggest selling, Australian produced single of the year, also winning the Gold APRA award of 1985 for most played record of the year.

In 1988 he formed the Mighty Reapers, a blues and soul band that spanned the 90s with their funky brand of Rhythm & Blues. This included being backing band for a series of touring artists including; Big Jay McNeely, Margie Evans, Lucky Peterson, Louisiana Red, Hubert Sumlin, Mojo Buford to name a few. They also opened the show for legends such as B.B. King, Albert Knight, Buddy Guy and Screaming Jay Hawkins. During this time they released a series of CDs for Rufus Records in Australia and Terra Nova Records in the U.S.A.. These included award winning Susz compositions such as scorching blues ballads ‘Guess I’ll Find Out Later On’ and Bad Luck Attack’.

Robert’s latest soul/blues/down home funk combo “THE CONTINENTAL BLUES PARTY” have been turning on audiences with their electrifying, soul charged, R’N’B workouts. Mixing “Continental” Robert’s own blues & soul compositions (including “SOUL KIND OF FEELING”) with show-stopping versions of tunes from the greats like – RAY CHARLES, MUDDY WATERS, JAMES BROWN, JOE SIMON, CURTIS MAYFIELD, BB KING to name a few!!

They have released an album “On The Soul Side” on Vitamin Records. The Continental Blues Party are always in demand for festivals, nightclubs and functions. Also Robert is a favourite performer on the hit TV show Rockwiz.
